We’re Thankful for You

When Jesus healed 10 lepers on his way to Jerusalem, in an account recorded in Luke 17, he was struck by the response. Just one of the men he had healed, a Samaritan (and therefore an outcast among the outcasts), returned to the Lord to give thanks. Jesus replied, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner” (Luke 17:17-18)?
Perhaps you have a better track record for giving thanks than that group of lepers. But if you’re like us, it’s also likely that you need a day set aside for thanking God for his abundant riches – for health, for family, for security, for His calling, but most importantly for the opportunity to live in relationship with Him. God’s Word asserts that He can be known and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). What more could we possibly ask for?
Pastor Rod and Joni Parsley and the CMC staff wish you a fulfilling and happy Thanksgiving holiday. May you spend it with people you love, eating too much and reflecting on the One who brought us into being and drew us to Himself. Be blessed!
