  • Remember the role of federal judges - Click on the link to send an e-mail to your U.S. Senators reminding them of the historic responsibility of judges: to interpret the law, not to make new law from the bench. The Senate is considering the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court.

  • In support of the Military Voting Protection Act - Click on the link to urge your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators to approve S. 1265, which would mandate steps to assure that active-duty military personnel receive assistance in exercising their right to vote, including expedition of their absentee ballots to their proper destinations.

  • Thanks for addressing problem of prison rape - Click on the link to send an e-mail of encouragement to Attorney General Eric Holder. A federal commission on prison rape sent recommendations to him, and he is required to act upon them within a year. Prison rape impacts about one of every 20 incarcerated men and woman.

  • Eliminate abortion coverage from health-care reform bill - Click on the link to as your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators to oppose any health-care reform bill that does not specifically exclude coverage for abortion in mandatory health-benefit plans, or forbid the use of tax dollars to fund benefit plans the cover abortions or abortions themselves.

  • I oppose ENDA and you should too! - Click on the link to ask your U.S. Senators and Member of Congress to oppose the Employer Non Discrimination Act, H.R. 2981. The legislation would establish protected classes of Americans based on sexual behavior.

Two bills currently in Congress would grant protected-class status to homosexuals, making crimes against them punishable by more prison times than crimes against persons from non-protected classes.

  • Thank you for standing up for DOMA! - The Justice Department, in a recently released federal legal brief, correctly defended the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage in the United States as being solely the union of one man and one woman. Click on the link to thank President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder for this principled position, and ask them to abandon plans to support a repeal of this important law.

  • Reject Internet Gambling bills – Click on the link to ask your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators to reject H.R. 2266 and H.R. 2267, two ill-advised bills that would open the doors for legalizing gambling on the Internet.

  • Keep prison re-entry funding alive! – Click here to send an e-mail to your U.S. Senators and Member of Congress, asking them to preserve funding for the Second Chance Act in the Department of Justice spending bill for fiscal year 2010. The Second Chance Act protects communities by helping released prisoners make an effective transition to free society.

  • Support the Parents’ Rights Amendment – use this link to send an e-mail to your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators urging them to support H.J. Res. 42, which would let state legislatures vote on a constitutional amendment forbidding the states, the federal government or any international treaty from restricting parental rights.

  • Let the people decide on the definition of marriage – Click on this link to ask your U.S. Senators and Member of Congress to approve a federal Marriage Protection Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This would allow the state legislatures to debate whether marriage should be defined in the United States solely as the union of one man and one woman, removing the issue from further discussion in the states and in the courts.
